yay! Got my internet back on!

Everytime I make a promise to myself, I wind up breaking it....I feel bad....

So yeah, lots of stuff has happened,

Sunday was the comic book expo! Sooo much fun!!!

So I saw someone today that I haven't seen in a long time. It was...weird. We talked about the things we used to talk about before, but it didn't 'click' the way it used to, you know? 

She tells me she's happy and she's found someone. I smiled and nodded and told her "that's great, congrats" Then the conversation ended but we still hung around, trying to find something apropriate to say.

Here's the fifth installment of my "It's been a while"  series, featuring Dinah. I'm not sure what to say about it, other than the fact I need to read more Dinah fics to get her character proper. Comments will be greatly appreciated. I use Wordpad, so the only beta reader I have is my self so feel free to point out any mistakes. 

After Dinah, it's Mia's turn, then I'm going to do one fic with everyone thrown in. Then it's over. Wow...my first series finished. I'm very proud *pats self on back*

To motivate myself into writing, I've decided to start a challenge table. It's for one of my favorite characters, but I've been terrified to write him because I'm scared I'll mangle his character horribly. Still, I've got to get my ass in gear, or I'll let it go for months.

Heh....last night I came home from work and felt the need to bake. It was nine and I figured if I hurried, I could make some quick cinnamon rolls.

I wound up finishing at one thirty, and I was so tired, I accidently burned my last batch, which set my fire alarm off at the dead of the night. Oops. And of course it would only shut off if I opened the front door to air our the room and get the smoke out and let the whole neighbourhood now that I was still up and burning something. By the time the alarm went off, everyone was up and (I was *really* tired) I was doing this weird, hopeles, half hysterical giggling that I couldn't stop for the life of me and just *staring* at my half burned rolls.   My sister has been giving me dirty looks all morning. 

My advice: Cooking late at night isn't a good idea. 

*Looks around, clears off dust* Wow, a while since I've been here...

I'm playing matchmaker with my friend. I went to a party and met the *perfect* guy for her. The absolute perfect guy. 

They met up with each other and right away, they liked each other. They're similar enough that they have lots to talk about things they have in common, but different enough that they don't drive each other crazy with their similarities. 

I'm really happy for her, because she's been having a rough time lately, and her asshole (now ex) boyfriend hasn't helped matters any. This guy really makes her happy and (finally!) makes her laugh. I hope they last because they really click together. 

Only now she's being all mousey, saying that he's not in her league and they live pretty far away (God, it's just forty minutes away, not the other side of the country). He's in Mexico right now (some kind of "mission mexico" thing), so she has until the twelfth to figure out what she wants to do. I know she *really* likes him, and I talked to him before he left, and he really likes her too. 

She's just worried that it's not going to work out. In her last four relationships, she's broken up with them and because she has horrible taste and they're all losers, they call her house at two in the morning to say how much they still love her and ask her constantly if she wants to get back together. Hello? She broke up with you because she didn't like you anymore!!!! Jesus Christ. 

I'm kicking her ass right now, saying it's a good idea and to go for it, but she's still worried. *Sigh* It kills me to do this, but does anyone has any advice on how I can deal with my personal drama that doesn't actually include you and will never affect your life in any way?

 

Wow, it's been a while since I was on LJ. I've been so busy lately.... :(

I've almost got my Hikaru costume ready for Otafest!!!!!! Thanks so much to my wonderful friends for helping me!!!!!

Today I actually got around to watching Magic Knights Rayearth (The character I'm dressing up as is from there). I realize now that the wig I bought is waaaay to pink and flourescent for the costume and I'm going to clash horribly with the red of my costume....argh. 

I'm going to stick out like a sore thumb.....With luck, people that know me will be too blinded by my shocking pink wig to actually realize it's me. Heh

Ah well...

I should be studying psychology....I have homework....I have a life outside of LJ and my job...

Recipe time! 

My friend through a St. Pat's day party and I was in charge of bringing in sweets. I brought these brownies, Buttermilk Brownies. My sister and her friend helped, and had a great time licking the bowls clean (remember when you used to do that? I do...I did it yesterday XD)

Very tasty brownies, but be careful that you don't use too much milk in the frosting or it'll never thicken. 

Here's the fourth of my "It's been a while" series.  Connor was another hard character to write up, mostly because I don't know quite as much about him. The quote I have there isn't original, it's from the show "House." I changed it up a bit, but still....

The third in my "It's been a while" series. This one is from Lian's persepctive. When I first started writing this chapter, I figured it'll be easy writing from a little girls point of view. Boy, was I wrong. It took me a while to completely change my style of writing to fit her mind frame. Even now, I dont know if I got it right. I'm going to have to practice more with her...

Thought it was gonna be all fics huh? Here's another one of my favorite recipes, the Cheese Loaf. The dough itself has a distinct cheese flavor without being overpowering. The crust has a bit of chesse sprinkled on it too. 

I like to eat this with my pasta dishes and it's not so much a dessert bread like the Cinnamon Swirl Loaf. It's a more eat-with-supper kind of bread. 

Here's the second part of my series, "It's been a while" This one is from Roy's perspective, with a bit of Dick thrown in. In the last one, we see that Roy called Ollie, here is Roy when he was calling Ollie. Shut up, the time line makes sense in my head.
